Islamabad: Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that his ministry is launching an Universal medical record system in which a person Identity card will be made his\her medical record number.
The Health Minister was addressing a first National Health Conference for the preparation of prvention of diseases and strong health system in a private hotel of Islamabad.
The Minister said that Pakistan population is increasing so much rapidly that Pakistan is on Sixth place with respect to its population in the world.
Syed Mustafa Kamal said that on one hand Pakistan has a growth rate of 2.6 percent on the other hand the country has a birth rate 3.6 percent adding Pakistan will turn fourth big country of the world till 2030 just after a hiatus of five years.
He said that health system and control on population is better in India, Bangladesh and Iran.
With respect to population we are going to cross the population of Indonesia, Syed Mustafa Kamal said.
The Minister apprised that 68 percent of diseases spread through contaminated water while with provision of clean drinking water 68 diseases can be stopped.
He said that there is no any impressive project of sewerage treatment in the country. From summit of Gilgit to seashores of Karachi sewerage water is mixing with drinking water.
Syed Mustafa Kamal said that Pakistan has become top country in the world with diseases of Hepatitis C and diabeties.
Pakistan’s 40 percent children suffered with malnutrition owing to this they are lethargic and their growth not occured, the Minister added.
He said that polio virus remained a challenge in Pakistan and Afghanistan only in the world.
He suggested to make decline in population as the part of the national policy.
