Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has urged authorities to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of gross negligence in the recent devastating incident in Swat.
Speaking in Narowal, Iqbal highlighted the tragic loss of an entire family of 18 members, who sought help as their home was inundated. He stated, “Children and women were carried away by the floodwaters, and no rescue efforts reached them in time.”
He criticized the deficient emergency response infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), emphasizing that inadequate facilities hindered life-saving efforts during the disaster. Iqbal reaffirmed his call for accountability, asserting that “18 lives were lost purely due to neglect. Those responsible must face justice.”
argeting PTI, he condemned their governance in KP, saying: “In fifteen years, PTI’s tenure has been marked by corruption and mismanagement, with no meaningful development or relief efforts in the region.”
