RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, The commander in Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, visited the General Headquarters and met Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The discussion between the two high-ranking officials focused on bilateral interests, current regional developments, security issues, and potential defense cooperation. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement highlighting that both leaders expressed their intent to collaborate on defense industry initiatives and share technical expertise to tackle modern security threats.
On arrival at GHQ, Lieutenant General Haftar paid respects by laying a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, honoring the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs. He was received warmly, with a guard of honour presented by a well-drilled Pakistan Army contingent, emphasizing the significance of the visit.
