WEB DESK: Hamas has approved the ceasefire agreement presented by mediators from Egypt and Qatar.
Sources revealed that under the proposed agreement, a 60-day ceasefire will be implemented in Gaza, during which half of the Israeli hostages held in Gaza will be released, alongside the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
Meanwhile, the Qatari news channel Al Jazeera also cited Hamas sources, stating that Hamas has approved the ceasefire deal offered by the mediators yesterday.
According to Al Jazeera, based on past history, it cannot be assured that the conflict will cease immediately after Hamas’s approval of the proposed ceasefire agreement.
Over the past two years, several agreements regarding ceasefires and the release of hostages have been approved by Hamas; however, Israel rejected these deals, and the fighting continued.
