Pakistan lodges complaint over Fakhar Zaman’s controversial dismissal against India

Dubai: Pakistan’s team management has formally raised concerns over Fakhar Zaman’s controversial dismissal during the high-voltage Asia Cup clash against India on Sunday, alleging that the third umpire failed to properly review the evidence.

According to sources, Pakistan’s team manager has written an email to the match referee and umpires, questioning the decision-making process that led to Fakhar Zaman being given out.

The management apprised the TV umpire did not examine all available angles before ruling in favour of the fielding side.

Fakhar’s catch-out stirred immediate controversy, with team officials insisting that the ball appeared to have touched the ground before reaching the wicket keeper.

The management argued that in such ambiguous cases, the benefit of the doubt should be awarded to the batter.

Sources further revealed that Pakistan’s protest emphasized how the evidence was not “clear and conclusive” enough to justify ruling Fakhar out. Instead, the umpire’s call favoured the fielding side despite replays showing uncertainty
