ISLAMABAD: Customers of Standard Chartered Bank in Pakistan encountered significant disruptions on Friday, with digital banking and online transaction services affected across several major cities.
Many account holders expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, highlighting the difficulties they faced in accessing online banking, fund transfers, and account updates. Several users also reported long wait times when attempting to contact customer support, with some waiting over 17 and 40 minutes without success.
The outage impacted key cities such as Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, where users reported that recent deposits and current balances were not visible on mobile apps or online platforms.
In response, the bank issued a statement acknowledging the issue, describing it as temporary and assured customers that services are being restored and are expected to be fully operational within a few hours.
