ISLAMABAD: Pakistan skipper says team focused on performance, not distractions
Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana has acknowledged that the upcoming showdown with India in the Women’s Cricket World Cup is a high pressure game but one her side is ready for.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Fatima expressed confidence in her team’s ability to handle the big occasion. “Every match comes with its own pressure, especially when it’s against India,” she said. “But our goal is to channel that pressure into performance.”
The young captain dismissed the notion that Pakistan can’t overcome their arch-rivals. “It’s simply not true that we can never beat India,” she asserted. “Any team is beatable if we play solid, smart cricket.”
She also stressed the team’s unity and mental focus, saying they remain unaffected by noise outside the field. “We don’t let external distractions influence us,” Fatima said. “We’re committed to playing with integrity and upholding the spirit of the game.”
“Records are meant to be broken,” she added, signaling her team’s determination to rewrite history as they gear up for one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament.
