Two prominent terrorists eliminated in coordinated operation by Police and CTD

PESHAWAR: Swabi Police, in coordination with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), conducted a joint intelligence-driven operation in the Manei Ajmeer mountain region of Swabi district, neutralizing two high-profile terrorists associated with the banned group “Fitna-ul-Khawarij.”

The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area, as stated by the District Police spokesperson.

During the operation, the terrorists engaged in an exchange of gunfire with the police, which led to an effective retaliation. As a result, two terrorists were killed, while two others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

The deceased have been identified as Nauman, alias Maneh, son of Makin Shah, and Abdul Basit, son of Talawat Shah, both from Malik Abad, Swabi. They were confirmed members of the TTP Syed-ul-Akbar group and were wanted for several acts of terrorism.

The operation also resulted in the recovery of a 125cc motorcycle, a Kalashnikov rifle, a hand grenade, a pistol, various rounds of ammunition, and other materials.

Efforts have been intensified in the surrounding regions to locate and apprehend the remaining fugitives.

District Police Officer (DPO) Swabi commended the prompt and brave response of the police force, reiterating that all attempts at disrupting peace in the district would be thwarted. He assured that safeguarding the lives and property of the residents remains the foremost priority of Swabi Police.
