Peace talks with Afghanistan fail to yield workable solution, Attaullah Tarar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, announced on Wednesday that the latest round of Pakistan-Afghanistan dialogue in Istanbul, Turkiye, ended without yielding any tangible solutions.

In a statement shared early morning on the social media platform X, Tarar emphasized that Pakistan has consistently reached out to Afghan Taliban authorities to address concerns over cross-border terrorism involving groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

He noted that Pakistan had provided ample, undeniable evidence of terrorist operations being orchestrated from Afghan territory. This evidence, according to Tarar, was acknowledged by both the Afghan representatives and host nations Qatar and Turkiye.

Tarar criticized the Afghan side for straying from the primary focus of the discussions and avoiding accountability. He stated that instead of addressing the core issues at hand, the Afghan Taliban engaged in blame-shifting and diversion tactics.
