Bilawal Bhutto Zardari calls equal provincial representation in FCC a historic milestone

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, described the inclusion of equal provincial representation in the Federal Constitutional Courtintroduced through the 27th Constitutional Amendment as a landmark achievement.

During a debate on the 27th Amendment in the National Assembly today, Bilawal lauded the government for accepting the PPP’s demand, highlighting that it aligns with the principles outlined in the Charter of Democracy.

He also praised the armed forces, particularly Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, for their global recognition following their significant victory over India. The amendment also grants constitutional protection to the rank of Field Marshal, a move he supported.

Bilawal stressed the importance of increased cooperation among political parties and called for a move towards Truth and Reconciliation, as envisioned in the Charter of Democracy, to help reduce political divisions.

Condemning recent terrorist attacks in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s past sacrifices in overcoming terrorism and expressed confidence that unity and resolve would help defeat this menace again.

Additionally, Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized the importance of devolving power to local levels to strengthen grassroots development.
