KARACHI: Gold prices experienced a decline in the local market on Friday, offering some respite to buyers as rates dropped across all categories.
Data from the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association revealed a decrease of Rs3,300 per tola for 24-karat gold, bringing it to Rs439,762. Similarly, the price for 10 grams of the same purity fell by Rs2,829, settling at Rs377,025. For those opting for 22-karat gold, the rate eased to Rs345,618 per 10 grams.
The downward trend was not limited to gold as silver prices also saw reductions in the domestic market. The price of 24-karat silver fell by Rs140 per tola, landing at Rs5,522, while the rate for 10 grams decreased by Rs120 to Rs4,734.
On the global front, gold prices faced pressure too. Spot gold hovered near $4,161 an ounce, down by $24.7 or 0.59 percent compared to the previous session.
