ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of collective efforts to ensure the protection, welfare, and education of children.
In their respective messages on the occasion of World Children’s Day, they called upon civil society, human rights organizations, media, parents, teachers, religious scholars, and children themselves to unite in creating a safe and nurturing environment for every child in Pakistan.
The President highlighted that World Children’s Day serves as a reminder of the shared responsibility to work towards a future where every child enjoys fundamental rights free from discrimination and exploitation. He stressed that safeguarding the rights of children is not just a legal obligation but also a moral responsibility demanding concerted attention and action.
The Prime Minister, reflecting on this year’s theme “My Day, My Rights,” emphasized the importance of acknowledging children’s individual and collective rights both nationally and globally. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting children from harm, stating that this remains a top priority.
He further noted that the government is making every effort to provide educational opportunities to talented children across the country, ensuring a brighter and more prosperous future for them.
