ISLAMABAD: The Government has approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army and civil armed forces for the upcoming by-elections scheduled for November 23.
The decision was made to assist the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in conducting the elections smoothly and peacefully.
According to the Interior Ministry’s statement, civil armed forces will serve as a secondary response team, operating in a standby or quick reaction mode. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army will act as the primary response unit, functioning in an in-situ quick reaction capacity.
The ministry emphasized that this deployment is intended to support the ECP in maintaining law and order during the election process on November 23, 2025.
