WEB DESK: In Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district, an Indian Army tank sank in the Indira Gandhi Canal, resulting in the death of one soldier.
According to police reports, the incident occurred during routine military exercises on Tuesday morning. Two soldiers were aboard the tank; one managed to escape, while the other became trapped inside and lost his life.
Police stated that the deceased soldier’s body was recovered after several hours of rescue efforts. During the exercise, armored vehicles and tanks were practicing crossing the canal when the tank became stuck and sank in the water.
Upon receiving information, police, the State Disaster Response Force, and Civil Defense teams arrived at the scene. After extensive efforts, they successfully retrieved the soldier’s body.
