Gold prices in Paksitan rises by Rs10,700 per tola

KARACHI:Gold prices in Pakistan saw a significant surge on Friday, with the per tola rate climbing by Rs10,700, as reported by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association.

This sharp rise brought the cost of one tola of gold to Rs454,262. The association attributed the increase to heightened international demand and persistent market uncertainty, noting that gold prices have been steadily rising in recent days.

Similarly, the price for 10 grams of gold saw an uptick of Rs9,174, reaching a new level of Rs389,456.

Globally, gold continued its upward trajectory, with prices soaring by $107 to hit $4,319 per ounce. This reflects a growing shift among investors toward safe-haven assets amid ongoing financial market volatility.

Local jewelers remarked that the surge in global prices is intensifying pressures in the domestic market. They also observed that buyers are largely adopting a cautious “wait and see” stance, while traders remain uneasy due to rapid and unpredictable price fluctuations.
