KARACHI: Gold prices have surged for the second consecutive day, with an increase of Rs2,200 per tola.
As per data from the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of gold per tola in the local market now stands at Rs455,762 following this rise. Similarly, the cost of 10 grams of gold jumped by Rs1,800, reaching Rs390,742.
Silver prices have also seen an uptick, with the value per tola rising by Rs78 to settle at Rs6,900. On the global stage, gold prices marked a significant increase of $22 per ounce, pushing the rate to $4,334.
This comes after Wednesday’s substantial spike in gold prices in both international and local markets, reversing a minor decline observed in the prior session.
The APSGJA noted that on Wednesday, the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs2,700 per tola, taking it to Rs453,562 due to heightened global market activity driven by consistent investor demand. The price for 10 grams similarly rose by Rs2,315, reaching Rs388,856.
