ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has responded positively, albeit conditionally, to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for dialogue, emphasizing the government’s willingness to engage in discussions if the opposition demonstrates genuine commitment to political stability.
Speaking at a federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the prime minister expressed his desire to advance negotiations with the opposition and reminded attendees that he has previously extended invitations for dialogue.
He reiterated that while the government remains open to talks in the interest of achieving political stability, it will not succumb to unlawful demands or coercive tactics masked as dialogue.
