MUZAFFARABAD: Speaking at a laptop distribution ceremony at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday, the Prime Minister highlighted the struggles faced by the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He acknowledged their immense sacrifices in pursuit of their rights and aspirations.
Prime Minister expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir, currently under Indian control, will eventually achieve freedom and unify with Pakistan.
He reiterated his unwavering dedication to transforming Pakistan into a prosperous nation through unity and collective effort. In addition, he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
The Prime Minister also commended Pakistan’s armed forces for delivering a decisive message to India this past May, which, he noted, served as a lasting reminder of Pakistan’s resilience.
Shehbaz Sharif announced educational support initiatives under the Pakistan Endowment Fund, assuring scholarships for students from regions such as Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and beyond. These scholarships will be provided for pursuing higher education both domestically and internationally, reflecting his determination to empower the youth.
He emphasized that the laptops distributed to students are awarded purely on merit and described these devices not merely as tools but as part of a broader vision that enabled students to continue their studies and earn livelihoods during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, he revealed plans to establish four advanced Daanish schools in Azad Kashmir, along with the future launch of Daanish University in the region.
