MUZAFFARABAD: The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has officially appointed Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry as a permanent judge of the AJK Supreme Court, following recommendations from the Kashmir Council Chairman, officials announced on Friday.
The appointment was carried out in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Interim Constitution of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Prior to final approval, a formal consultation was also held with the Chief Justice of AJK, Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan.
Previously, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry served as the Custodian of Evacuee Property within the Azad Kashmir government before his elevation to the judiciary.
Legal experts and political leaders in Muzaffarabad have lauded the decision, expressing optimism that his inclusion will bolster the judicial system and promote fair and effective justice delivery in the region.
The official notification confirming his appointment has been issued, making Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry a permanent member of the AJK Supreme Court.
