WEB DESK: President Vladimir Putin of Russia has issued a message of sympathy to Pakistan after a deadly suicide bombing targeted a mosque in Islamabad, resulting in 32 fatalities and injuring 169 individuals.
In his condolence letters addressed to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Putin expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic loss of life during the religious ceremony. He condemned the act of violence, describing it as a brutal reminder of terrorism’s barbaric and inhumane nature.
The Russian leader reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Pakistan in the ongoing fight against terrorism. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to eliminate extremist violence and protect innocent lives.
In his message, Putin extended heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished, and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
President Zardari responded by thanking President Putin for his considerate message. Sharing a copy of the condolence letter on X (formerly Twitter), Zardari emphasized that Pakistan greatly appreciates Russia’s solidarity and shared determination to combat terrorism in all its forms.
