Pakistan claims control of 32 Sq Km area along Afghan border

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have reportedly assumed control of a 32-square-kilometer area near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border amid escalating tensions between the two sides.

The development follows recent cross-border exchanges. According to security officials, the operation was launched after alleged unprovoked gunfire by Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) targeting Pakistani border checkpoints.

Officials described the response as strong and decisive, stating that forces operating in the Zhob sector moved forward and established control over the disputed stretch of land.

Authorities have reportedly designated the secured area as the “Ghadwana Enclave.”

There has been no immediate confirmation or response from Afghan officials regarding the reported development.
