ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had a telephonic discussion with Turkish President Tayyeb Erdogan this evening, emphasizing the need to work together for regional peace.
During the conversation, the Prime Minister expressed serious concern over the worsening situation in the Middle East. He strongly condemned the Israeli assault on Iran and the subsequent unfortunate attacks on other Gulf nations.
Shehbaz Sharif briefed President Erdogan on his recent diplomatic efforts with the leadership of the Gulf countries, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support and solidarity with them.
He also conveyed Pakistan’s willingness to play a constructive role in mediating efforts to de-escalate the crisis. Both leaders highlighted the importance of restraint from all sides to prevent further tensions and conflict.
Additionally, the Prime Minister shared updates on the latest developments concerning Afghanistan. The two leaders agreed to stay in close contact and continue their joint efforts to foster peace and stability across the region.
