ISLAMABAD: Shehbaz Sharif is expected to undertake an important three-country diplomatic visit as Pakistan steps up engagement amid rising tensions in the Middle East, according to official sources.
The tour will begin in Saudi Arabia, followed by visits to Qatar and Turkiye, where the prime minister will hold meetings with senior leadership on regional and bilateral issues.
During the Saudi Arabia leg, PM Shehbaz is expected to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss strengthening bilateral relations as well as broader geopolitical developments affecting the region.
Officials said the discussions will also focus on evolving security challenges, including the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing diplomatic efforts linked to US–Iran engagement.
The visit comes at a time when Pakistan is actively involved in regional diplomacy, playing a mediating role in efforts to ease tensions between Washington and Tehran following recent high-level discussions in Islamabad.
Sources added that consultations in all three countries are expected to cover regional stability, economic cooperation, and coordination on key diplomatic initiatives, as Pakistan seeks to maintain momentum in multilateral engagement.
