TEHRAN: Field Marshal Asim Munir held a significant meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran during his official visit to Iran.
The high-level talks were also attended by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Images of the meeting were shared by the Iranian government on the social media platform X, reflecting the importance of the engagement.
Earlier in the visit, Asim Munir toured Iran’s central Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, where he was welcomed by Lieutenant General Abdollahi. Discussions during the visit focused on issues of mutual interest and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
In another key interaction, Munir met Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and head of the country’s negotiating team. Ghalibaf reiterated Iran’s commitment to lasting peace in the region, expressing hope that parties involved in conflicts would move beyond past mistrust and demonstrate sincerity through their actions.
He also stressed that despite Iran’s efforts toward stability and security, progress is often hindered by repeated breaches of commitments from the opposing side.
