QUETTA: An officer of the Frontier Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain, was martyred during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan, officials confirmed.
According to sources, Lt Col Khalid Hussain sustained critical injuries while leading the operation with notable courage. He later succumbed to his wounds, embracing martyrdom in the line of duty.
Funeral prayers for the fallen officer were held at the Frontier Corps Balochistan (North) headquarters in Quetta. The ceremony was attended by senior military officials, civil authorities, and political representatives, who paid tribute to his sacrifice and dedication to national security.
He will be laid to rest in his hometown with full military honors. Officials emphasized that his sacrifice reflects the enduring commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to safeguarding the country’s peace and stability.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s top military leadership reiterated its resolve to eliminate militant threats during the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.
The forum paid tribute to the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians, stating that their sacrifices remain central to the nation’s strength and unity. The army chief expressed confidence in the military’s operational readiness and praised commanders for their continued efforts in counterterrorism operations across the country.
