WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has said he is confident that Iran will completely stop uranium enrichment.
In his latest remarks, President Trump stated that he believes Iran will abandon its efforts to develop nuclear weapons. He added that the United States would also secure Iran’s nuclear materials.
Trump emphasized that work on a potential agreement with Iran must continue, but said there would be no rush in reaching a deal. He noted that under the current conditions, no hasty decisions will be made regarding Iran, and that he had direct contacts with Iranian officials during negotiations.
The U.S. president also reiterated comments made a day earlier, saying that the United States has achieved a “major military success” and that he does not feel any pressure or concern regarding Iran. He claimed that a “complete victory” over Iran would be achieved and suggested that resolving the Iran issue could lead to lower global oil prices.
