ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the Sitara-e-Shuja’at for Liaqat Shaheed in recognition of his exceptional courage and sacrifice, on the recommendation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Liaqat, a civilian hero, lost his life while attempting to stop a suicide attack targeting a security checkpost in the Jand area of Attock.
Officials said his courageous action helped avert a potentially devastating attack and saved numerous lives.
The honour highlights the nation’s recognition of his bravery and ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
