ISLAMABAD: A dedicated week-long anti-polio vaccination initiative is set to kick off tomorrow across 79 targeted districts nationwide.
The National Emergency Operations Centre has announced that approximately 19 million children under the age of five will receive anti-polio drops during this campaign, which will run until the 24th of this month.
In Punjab, nearly 6.19 million young children in ten selected districts will be vaccinated against the disease.
Sindh will see about 5.79 million children immunized in twenty districts.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plans to vaccinate approximately 4.61 million children in 23 districts.
Balochistan will cover around 1.99 million children across 25 districts, and in the federal capital, around 450,000 children will be targeted during the campaign.
To ensure the safety of vaccination teams conducting door-to-door visits, the government has put in place comprehensive security measures.
This campaign aims to eradicate polio from the country by reaching every child in the most affected areas.
