RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, emphasized that lasting peace and sustainable development in Balochistan hinge on a people-focused strategy, inclusive growth, and strengthened governance, in addition to security operations.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal paid a visit to Quetta Garrison on Tuesday, where he engaged with student officers and faculty at the Command and Staff College, Quetta.
In his address, Marshal Munir commended the high standards of training, intellectual rigor, and professionalism that define the Command and Staff College, Quetta. He expressed pride in the accomplishments of its graduates, noting their distinguished performance and unwavering dedication to their duties.
The Field Marshal highlighted the evolving nature of modern warfare, stressing the need for officers to stay updated on emerging technologies, multi-domain operational strategies, and the importance of joint tri-service efforts to meet future battlefield challenges. He urged continuous training and preparedness to respond effectively to changing security dynamics
while upholding the highest levels of operational excellence.
Later, Marshal Munir interacted with officers and soldiers stationed in Balochistan. Addressing the security environment, he reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces, backed by the resilient support of the nation, to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
He dismissed propaganda, misinformation, and externally financed terrorism as obstacles to Pakistan’s progress, emphasizing that hostile elements attempting to destabilize the country through proxies will ultimately be defeated through national unity and resilience.
Reiterating the importance of peace and stability in Balochistan, the Field Marshal pointed out that long-term development depends on a strategy that prioritizes people-centric policies, inclusive development, and better governance, in conjunction with security measures.
He also lauded the efforts of the Balochistan government in advancing public welfare, socio-economic upliftment, and fostering stronger relations between the state and its citizens.
Expressing appreciation for the high morale, operational readiness, and professionalism of the troops and officers, he acknowledged their vital role in maintaining peace and upholding the authority of the state in the region.
Upon arrival in Quetta, the COAS & CDF was welcomed by Commander Quetta Corps.
