LAHORE: The Lahore City Traffic Police have launched a crackdown on unregistered Qingqi rickshaws and loaders, enforcing a ban on their entry onto major roads, including the prominent Canal Road.
The move aims to safeguard public safety, protect property, and ensure the smooth flow of traffic. As part of this initiative, authorities have explicitly prohibited unregistered loaders and Qingqi rickshaws, especially those lacking registration plates, from operating on designated model roads.
In an official awareness campaign, the Traffic Police emphasized that the complete ban on unregistered and unnumbered vehicles on key thoroughfares is now in effect. This step is intended to curb traffic congestion, improve law enforcement, and reduce the rising number of road accidents.
Officials highlighted that unregistered vehicles not only cause traffic disruption but also pose challenges in identifying individuals responsible during criminal incidents or accidents. Therefore, strict legal action will be taken against those violating the new regulations.
The Traffic Police assured the public that the enforcement will be immediate and thorough. They urged vehicle owners and drivers to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and to adhere strictly to traffic rules to promote safer road conditions.
Authorities reiterated that road safety depends heavily on compliance with traffic laws, and any violations will be dealt with severely under the law. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement and contribute to a safer transportation environment.
