RAWALPINDI: A man tragically lost his life on Monday after taking his own life by jumping in front of a train at Rawalpindi Railway Station.
The incident occurred at Platform No. 3, where the individual, later identified as Gul Nawaz, aged 60, was struck by an oncoming train. Emergency rescue teams quickly responded to the scene, recovering the body and transporting it to a hospital for post-mortem examination. Railway police have launched an investigation into the case.
Train Derailed Near Sihala
In another incident, the Tezgam Express heading towards Karachi was partially derailed near Sihala on Monday. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
Railway authorities responded swiftly, arriving at the scene to conduct an inquiry and assess the damage. Officials confirmed that only one coach of the train sustained partial damage. Despite the derailment, the train resumed its journey to its scheduled destination without further delay.
