KARACHI: The price of gold decreased by Rs.1469 per tola in Pakistan.

Data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association showed that the price of 24-karat gold per tola dropped by Rs1,469, settling at Rs467,816 compared with Rs469,285 in the previous trading session.

Likewise, the rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs1,323 to Rs401,012 from Rs402,335. The price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also edged down by Rs1,197, reaching Rs367,624 against the earlier rate of Rs368,821.

The downward movement mirrored trends in global markets, where gold lost $14.69 per ounce to trade at $4,453.81, compared with $4,468.49 a day earlier.

Silver prices also weakened. In the domestic market, silver per tola declined by Rs67 to Rs7,730, while the price of 10 grams fell by Rs61 to Rs6,623.

On the international front, silver prices slipped by $0.67 per ounce, closing at $72.52, according to figures provided by the association.
