Suthra Punjab vehicle burns in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: A vehicle operated under the Suthra Punjab initiative caught fire on Waris Khan Murree Road in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

Emergency rescue teams responded promptly to the scene and managed to put out the flames.

Rescue officials indicated that the fire likely resulted from an electrical short circuit within the vehicle.

Sources revealed that this incident is not isolated, as there have been previous reports of RWMC vehicles experiencing fires and brake failures. Currently, around 245 vehicles under the RWMC contract, valued at Rs. 380 million annually for maintenance, are being monitored for safety concerns.
