Chakwal Tragedy: Injured father, son showing signs of recovery

RAWALPINDI: The father and brother of nine-year-old Hania, the Australian child who lost her life in a Crime Control Department (CCD) firing incident in Chakwal, continue to recover at Benazir Bhutto Hospital.

Hospital officials said both patients have been receiving treatment for the past five days and their health is improving steadily.

Medical Superintendent Dr Sherjeel stated that 12-year-old Afaan, Hania’s brother, is making progress after undergoing surgery for abdominal injuries. He also sustained a leg fracture and is under continuous observation by orthopaedic specialists.

Doctors added that Hania’s father has recovered significantly and is being kept under medical supervision as a precaution. If their condition remains stable, both are expected to be discharged within the coming days.

In a separate development, the CCD in-charge and Chakwal’s District Police Officer visited the grieving family to offer condolences and assure them that a transparent investigation is underway.

Officials reiterated that strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible once the inquiry is completed.

The fatal shooting, which claimed the life of nine-year-old Hania and left her father and brother injured, has drawn widespread public attention and intensified demands for accountability.
