ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally issued a show-cause notice to Senator Zarqa Suharwardy following her recent comments on the Kashmir issue.
According to a statement from PTI Member of National Assembly (MNA) Asad Qaiser, the party has taken this step due to Zarqa Suharwardy’s remarks, which were deemed unnecessary and contrary to the party’s official stance on Kashmir. PTI clarified that her statements do not represent the party’s position.
PTI leader Shaikh Waqas Akram highlighted that the party has already expressed support for the demands of the Joint Action Committee and has issued a comprehensive statement outlining its stance on the 12 reserved seats.
He further mentioned that Senator Zarqa has already been served with a show-cause notice and that the party is currently reviewing the matter in accordance with internal rules and procedures. A final decision regarding her status within the party remains pending.
