ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has commenced gas production from the Sahito-1 discovery in Sindh’s Khairpur district, with supplies now being delivered into the network of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGCL).
According to the company, the field is currently producing around 6 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD). Output is expected to increase further as planned upgrades and expansion of surface facilities are completed.
To accelerate commercialization of the discovery, OGDCL installed a 5-kilometre, 6-inch flowline linking the Sahito-1 well to the Suleman Gathering Facility. The gas is subsequently processed at the Sinjhoro Plant before being injected into the SSGCL transmission network.
OGDCL operates the Khewari Exploration Licence and holds a 75 percent working interest in the venture, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) owns the remaining 25 percent stake.
