RABAT: Morocco has officially renamed its 650-mile-long coastal highway after former U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to Arab media reports, a royal decree issued by King Mohammed VI states that the highway from Tiznit to the southern city of Inzegane will now bear the name of Donald J. Trump.
The highway, commonly known as the Tiznit-Inzegane Expressway, stretches approximately 655 miles (1055 kilometers) and is estimated to have cost around one billion U.S. dollars.
In a message, President Trump expressed his gratitude to King Mohammed VI for the honor, stating, “I thank King Mohammed VI of Morocco for this great honor.”
He also added that he looks forward to the opportunity of traveling on this magnificent highway soon, highlighting the strong ties between the United States and Morocco.
