HYDERABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has firmly rejected the proposal put forth by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi regarding the formation of new provinces, asserting that the residents of Sindh will never accept such a move.
Addressing reporters, CM Shah expressed uncertainty about the intentions behind Naqvi’s statement, suggesting it might be linked to the central government led by PML-N. “I am not sure what Mohsin Naqvi’s remarks are implying. Perhaps it’s a reference to the PML-N government in Islamabad,” he remarked.
He dismissed the idea of creating new provinces as an outdated and recycled concept that has been previously discussed and rejected.
Regarding the political landscape, Shah emphasized that boycotting elections is not a viable solution, advocating instead for participation in democratic processes. “Elections are the only way forward to resolve our issues. The youth are the future of this nation and deserve respect. They are not insects,” he said.
On the Kashmir issue, the CM highlighted that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has conveyed to Kashmiris that he is committed to their rights. “Kashmiri brothers and sisters should support Bilawal Bhutto. The PPP has sacrificed much but remains unwavering in its stance on Kashmir’s rights. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto used to say he thought of Kashmir even in his sleep,” he stated.
Additionally, CM Murad Ali Shah announced that the Sindh government has recovered funds involved in the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway corruption case.
Earlier, the chief minister participated in the Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, describing it as a moment of spiritual significance. “I am honored to have paid my respects at the shrine during the Urs. Sindh is truly the land of Sufis,” he concluded.
