KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced Friday, August 14, 2026, as a public holiday across the province to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination (S&GAD) Department, all government and private offices, autonomous institutions and local government bodies will remain closed on the occasion.
The notification was signed by CTC Aqeel Hussain Mako.
Pakistan observes Independence Day every year on August 14 to commemorate the country’s independence.
However, hospitals, emergency services and other essential departments will continue their operations to ensure uninterrupted provision of critical public services during the holiday.
