NDC urges PM, Chief Justice to ensure Imran Khan receives medical care

ISLAMABAD: The National Dialogue Committee (NDC) has approached Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, calling for the Supreme Court’s directives regarding Imran Khan’s medical treatment and transfer to Shifa International Hospital to be implemented.

The committee has urged both officials to ensure that the former prime minister receives appropriate medical care and that the court’s order is followed without delay.

The NDC also requested that Khan be allowed to consult his personal doctors and have access to his family members and legal team.

In its communication, the committee appealed to the prime minister and chief justice to help ease the country’s political tensions and encourage a more constructive political environment.

The NDC is an informal political grouping comprising several former PTI figures, including Fawad Chaudhry, Imran Ismail and Mehmood Moulvi. Established in late 2025, the group has promoted political dialogue, consensus-building and broader political reforms.

However, PTI leaders and imprisoned party members have distanced themselves from the committee, maintaining that it does not possess an official mandate to negotiate on behalf of the party.

The NDC’s latest appeal comes as debate continues over the implementation of the Supreme Court’s directions concerning Imran Khan’s medical treatment and possible transfer to hospital.
