ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has rejected the federal government’s plea for an expedited hearing of its review petition concerning the transfer of PTI’s founder to the hospital, sources reported on Monday. The review petition has been assigned case number 2033/2026 and will be scheduled for hearing in accordance with the court’s standard procedures.
The government had requested an accelerated hearing to challenge the court’s previous order regarding the PTI leader’s hospital transfer. However, sources indicated that the petition will now be addressed in the normal course of the court’s fixed agenda.
Additionally, a contempt of court petition related to the same matter is also anticipated to be scheduled alongside the main case. The bench assigned to hear the case is currently unavailable due to the Supreme Court’s summer recess.
The case is set to be heard on September 16, following the end of the recess period.
