A.J.KASHMIR: One Ranger personnel was martyred and another injured after an attack by a violent mob in Azad Kashmir during a road clearance effort.
The incident occurred while security forces were working to clear the Sarsawa-Tarar Khal road. During the operation, members of the mob opened fire on law enforcement personnel, resulting in the martyrdom of Sepoy Shahnawaz, who was shot in the chest. Lance Naik Bilal was also seriously wounded, sustaining a gunshot injury to his shoulder. The fallen soldier, Shahnawaz, was from Khairpur, Sindh.
A crackdown is currently ongoing to restore access to blocked routes, driven by urgent demands from local residents facing significant hardships related to mobility and food shortages.
Security experts have condemned the use of sophisticated weapons and explosives by the rioters, calling it an act of terrorism carried out with deliberate planning. They emphasized that the sacrifices made by security personnel highlight the importance of maintaining the authority of the state and ensuring its sovereignty.
