Gold climbs Rs3,900 per tola as prices rise in global market

KARACHI: Gold prices continued their upward trend in Pakistan on Friday, rising in tandem with a fresh increase in international bullion rates.

According to rates released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold rose Rs3,900 per tola, taking the rate to Rs469,136.

The price of 10-gram gold also increased by Rs3,344, reaching Rs402,208.

The latest increase follows a sharp rise recorded a day earlier. On Thursday, gold had climbed Rs11,200 per tola to settle at Rs465,236.

Global prices strengthen

In the international market, gold gained $39, reaching $4,466 per ounce, including a premium of $20.

The continued rise in global bullion prices has also supported higher rates in the domestic market.

Meanwhile, silver prices moved higher as well, with the rate increasing by Rs117 per tola to reach Rs7,161.
