NADRA urges parents to obtain B-Form for children before applying for CNIC

ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an important advisory for parents regarding the registration process for children’s CNICs. The authority emphasized the importance of obtaining a B-Form (Child Registration Certificate) that includes the child’s photograph and biometric data such as fingerprints.

In a social media statement, NADRA explained that without a biometric-linked B-Form, the child’s records may lack essential biometric information. Parents are advised to visit their nearest NADRA registration centre if their child’s biometric data has not yet been recorded, especially when applying for a first-time CNIC.

For children whose biometric data—photograph, fingerprints, and iris scan—are already linked to their B-Form in NADRA’s database, parents can conveniently apply for a CNIC through the PakID mobile app. This process allows for submitting the application remotely, without visiting a registration centre.

However, if the biometric information is not available in NADRA’s records, parents must take their child to a NADRA registration centre to have the biometric data recorded and complete the CNIC application process.

NADRA clarified that applying for a standard B-Form does not require a visit to the registration centre. Parents can submit the B-Form application online via the PakID app from the comfort of their home and download the certificate once the process is complete.
