ISLAMABAD: Captain (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry officially assumed the responsibilities of Inspector General of Islamabad Police on Tuesday.
Senior officers and police personnel welcomed the newly appointed IGP upon his arrival at the Central Police Office, where a formal change-of-command ceremony was held.
A smartly attired contingent of Islamabad Police presented a guard of honour to Captain Sohail during the ceremony.
Following his assumption of charge, the new police chief held introductory meetings with senior officers and was briefed on key professional and operational matters concerning the capital’s police force.
He also interacted with the staff at the Central Police Office and discussed administrative and other issues related to police operations.
Later, IGP Sohail Chaudhry visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, where he laid tribute to the personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
