KARACHI: Gold prices staged a strong recovery in Pakistan on Friday, with the price of 24-karat gold climbing Rs6,900 per tola to Rs460,336.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs5,914, reaching Rs394,663.
The latest surge came a day after bullion prices declined by Rs3,800 per tola to Rs453,436. Thursday’s drop followed a substantial Rs7,900 increase recorded in the previous session.
Gold has remained highly volatile in the domestic market, with prices having shed Rs7,800 over the two sessions preceding Wednesday’s sharp rally.
The upward trend was also reflected in international markets, where gold gained $69 to reach $4,378 per ounce.
