ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said on Wednesday that the government remained willing to engage in talks with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over its planned march towards Islamabad.
Speaking at a press conference, Rana Sanaullah stressed that political disputes should be settled through negotiations rather than confrontation.
He urged the PTI to place national interests ahead of its political objectives, warning that the state could not be pressured into accepting demands through protests or attempts to disrupt normal affairs.
The SAPM also accused the PTI of pursuing a course that could contribute to political instability in the country.
Referring to the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said the province was continuing to suffer losses in the fight against terrorism.
Rana Sanaullah said it was difficult to understand the timing of the PTI’s march when funerals of those killed in the war against terrorism were taking place, while PTI leaders and workers were proceeding with their political activities.
