MUMBAI: Mumbai police have stepped up security outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra amid reports that investigators are probing a possible connection between the actor and an alleged attack plan linked to a recent firing incident involving Tiger Shroff.
Additional police personnel and patrol vehicles have reportedly been deployed around Salman’s residence. Armed officers and security staff wearing bulletproof jackets have also been spotted in the area.
The heightened security follows a shooting incident on October 18, when three motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu neighbourhood.
Tiger escaped the attack unhurt, while his driver and a passerby were reportedly injured. According to reports, the attackers fired seven rounds at the vehicle.
Investigators are reportedly examining claims that the suspects had conducted surveillance outside Salman Khan’s residence before the shooting. Sources cited in media reports suggested that the alleged attackers may have reconsidered their plans after assessing the security arrangements at the actor’s home.
However, authorities have not officially confirmed reports that Salman Khan was the intended target of the alleged attack plan.
