President Zardari heads to Germany for talks on trade, economic ties

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari is scheduled to visit Germany from October 22 to 24 for high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, with a particular focus on expanding trade, investment and economic cooperation.

Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said the president would hold meetings with his German counterpart, senior government officials and representatives of the business community during his three-day visit.

According to the spokesperson, discussions will centre on Pakistan-Germany relations and ways to broaden economic and commercial engagement between the two countries.

He said the visit forms part of continued high-level exchanges between Islamabad and Berlin to deepen their longstanding partnership and explore new avenues for cooperation.

The visit comes as Pakistan and Germany mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, providing an opportunity to further consolidate ties between the two countries.

Khan said the milestone underscored the importance of strengthening existing cooperation and advancing the bilateral partnership in areas of mutual interest.

He added that President Zardari’s visit reflected the commitment of both countries to enhancing relations, particularly in trade, commerce and economic development.
