ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines has revealed a new cabin crew uniform collection created by designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, known as HSY. The designs were showcased in Lahore on October 22 and are scheduled to enter service on October 31.
The collection is expected to debut on PIA’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flight from London to Islamabad. HSY was chosen after a Karachi showcase in which 10 designers presented proposals to a panel of fashion and industry representatives.
PIA says the uniforms pair breathable fabrics and practical tailoring for long-haul comfort with details inspired by Pakistani craftsmanship. The launch is part of the airline’s broader effort to refresh its image under new management.
PIA has previously worked with notable designers on crew attire, including Pierre Cardin in 1966 and Sir Hardy Amies in the 1970s. A later uniform inspired by Nomi Ansari was used for 12 years.
